Lab Assistant

  • 3-6 month contract to become permanent

Due to staff movement, our client, a fast paced food manufacturer in the Northern suburbs, is seeking an enthusiastic Laboratory Assistant to work on a 3-6 month contract. Should the candidate prove themselves, this position will become permanent.
 
Reporting to the Senior Laboratory Technician, this role involves duties such as microbiology work (testing for lysteria, salmonella, coliforms), media preparation, sampling and general housekeeping.
 
To be eligible for this role you must have:
  • Certificate or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques, Microbiology
  • Previous industrial laboratory experience preferably dealing with food.
  • Have good microbiology skills.
  • Be able to work quickly and efficiently as this a fast paced lab.
  • Have a mature and responsible attitude.
