Our client, a very successful Australian owned and managed company, provides leading technologies to some of the top research groups in Australia. 
Due to growth, they are looking to employ a Field Service Engineer to undertake the installation, maintenance and ongoing support of sophisticated, cutting edge instrumentation including laboratory robots, DNA synthesisers and microarrayers and other automation platforms.
This is truly a rare opportunity for someone with excellent knowledge of life sciences instrumentation that wants access to the following benefits:

To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, you will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • A strong background in electronics is vital, with engineering and mechanical aptitude. A formal qualification in electronics is preferred.
  • Electro/mechanical experience and strong PC skills.
  • Qualifications or knowledge of life sciences would be an advantage. 
  • Experience in the use, maintenance and troubleshooting / problem solving of life science equipment will be well regarded.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards in customer service with regard to equipment installation, service and preventative maintenance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with the ability to deal with a broad spectrum of people from Laboratory Assistants through to Directors and Research Managers.
  • As the role grows, be comfortable in making technical presentations to users.
  • Be flexible and adaptable.  There may be the need to deal with European and American operations, so late night or early morning teleconferences may be required (by negotiation).
  • Be comfortable working autonomously or as part of a team as the need arises.
  • Be passionate and committed to science and your work.
  • Have a current drivers license.
  • Must have full work rights.
