Our client is a FMCG Company within the food industry.  With manufacturing facilities in three states, their plant in Ingleburn is currently looking for a Quality Control Food Technician. 
To meet an immediate need, the successful candidate will work as a Panel Technician,  working a 9am-2pm shift in the QA laboratory. Your primary responsibility will be to perform setup, evaluation and clean up of the daily QC panel.
After an initial period, you will move to a 5am-1pm shift as a Food Technician, with a wider range of responsibilities. There may be overtime or weekend work required for both roles, and the 5am-1pm shift carries a 15% shift loading.
As a Food Technician, you will primarily be responsible for day to day routine quality checks in the factory, performing routine and non-routine product quality tests according to ISO and HACCP standards.
Duties will include:
  • Conduct visual inspection, monitoring product colour, consistency and aesthetics.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests  including chemical and microbiological testing, product weights and vacuum and seal integrity.
  • Recommend product for release based on QCP & CCP tests.
  • Preparation of routine and non routine reports.
  • Ensure finished product is packaged to Company standards and Customer requirements.
  • Ensure the Company‚Äôs Health and Safety Policies and Practices are Maintained. Identify, recommend & implement enhancements to work processes and the environment with regard to safety and continuous quality improvements.
  • Take appropriate & effective action when raw materials, product and/or process are out of specification.
  • Effectively and appropriately deal with customer complaints.
  • Conduct product development tasks when required.
  • Participate in overtime roster when required.
For your application to be successful you must meet the following criteria:
  • A tertiary qualification, degree or diploma, preferably in food technology.
  • Some experience working in the food industry is essential, ideally from a FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and ISO standards.
  • Knowledge of canning processes would be well regarded. 
  • Ability to use computers and in particular Microsoft Office programs.
  • Due to the location, your own transport would be an advantage. 
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Immediate start preferred.
