Regulatory Affairs / Quality Systems Assistant

Our client, a major government research organisation is looking to employ a scientist, preferably with a biological background on contract.
 
The role will entail the following:
 
  • Daily interaction with a variety of people at all levels so excellent interpersonal skills and a happy outlook are of utmost importance.
 
  • Assisting in the management of compliance with National and International regulatory requirements for chemical and biological research.
 
  • The provision of secretariat support, developing and implementing systems and procedures, through to managing quality systems and coordinating and providing reports to regulatory bodies. 
 
To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following requirements:
 
  • Must be an Australian citizen and willing to undergo security checks. Permanent residents are not eligible for this role.
 
  • Have excellent organisational and time management skills.
 
  • Experience in administrative work preferably in a scientific environment.
 
  • Tertiary qualifications such as a degree in a scientific discipline.  Biological science an advantage.
 
  • Knowledge of quality systems well regarded e.g ISO systems.
 
  • Able to start work with a couple weeks notice.
 
This is a three month contract initially that will be extended to six months.  The opportunity for further extensions or permanency a distinct possibility. 
 
The position is diverse and relatively autonomous, and provides an excellent opportunity for a highly organised person with good administration and people skills.
 
Although initially a short term contract, this position provides an opportunity for someone to take ownership of, and provide leadership in regulatory compliance within the Division.
