Technical Sales / Business Development Manager

Our client is an Australian owned and operated company that imports and distributes steam sterilisation units and accessories. Forty years on, they continue to be the leader in this field. Their products and accessories are utilised by dental, medical, veterinary, laboratory and other professional industries – even tattooists! 
 
Due to expansion, they are looking to appoint a Technical Sales Representative / Business Development Manager, ideally with some experience in technical sales and some knowledge of infection control.
 
Reporting directly to the General Manager, this represents a great opportunity for a motivated sales person who wishes to build on their existing experience in technical sales.
 
This is one of the more “recession proof” sales roles you will find – sterilisation is not a luxury that can be ignored when times are tough – it’s a legal and ethical necessity in many industries!
 
Key to your success in this role will be your ability to generate new business – you will be selling equipment that does not need frequent replacement or renewal, so you won’t simply be servicing repeat clients.
 
To be considered for this position you must meet the following criteria:
 
  • Proven ability to generate new clients is essential (preferably in a technical area)
  • A tertiary qualification in biological sciences or a related field, or practical experience in a similar area, is strongly preferred but not essential
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques or infection control or sterilisation techniques etc. an advantage, but not a prerequisite
  • Familiarity with industries such as veterinary, dental, medical etc a distinct advantage
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business partnerships
  • A current drivers’ licence – much of your time will be spent visiting clients
  • Good time management skills
 
The Company is offering an attractive base salary of $60K + super, a fully maintained company car, mobile phone, laptop and commission.
