Part Time Technical Officer (Food) - Regulatory

  • Multinational Food Ingredient Company
  • Permanent Role: 9am – 1pm, Monday to Friday (with some flexibility)
  • Northern Beaches Location
Our Client is a multinational food ingredient company; one of the leaders in their market segment. They are currently seeking a Technical Officer to assist the Quality and Regulatory Manager with duties relating to Food Regulatory Affairs and QC.
 
This is a permanent part-time role. Working 20 hours / week you will be required to work 5 mornings per week (Monday to Friday). There is some flexibility with the starting time (ideally between 8 & 9am), but you will be required to work 5 short days rather than 2 or 3 full days.
 
This role is focused around Regulatory issues, although you may need to assist in the laboratory so food QC lab skills would be a definite advantage

Your duties will include:
 
  • Generate product specifications
  • Prepare MSDSs and update MSDS database
  • Complete customer questionnaires
  • Complete AFGC forms
  • Provide customers with reliable and timely information
  • Maintain specification files and assist with general administrative tasks
  • Assist QC department testing raw materials and finished products
  • Assist with audits and act on audit outcomes
  • Evaluate alternative raw materials and provide written reports
  • Participate in taste test panelling
 
To be considered for this role you will need:
 
  • A diploma or degree in Food Science or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 1 year industrial experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of Regulatory / Food laws in Australia
  • Food QC lab experience not essential but a definite advantage
  • Methodical approach with good attention to detail
  • Solid computer skills
