Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

Our client, a multinational manufacturing company based in Melbourne is currently seeking to employ a multi skilled Manager with experience in all issues Environmental, Health and Safety.
 
In this role, your excellent communication and influential skills will see you advising personnel at all levels in the use of environmental best practice ensuring all Australian and New Zealand operations adhere to legislation and maintain their obligations.
 
A main part of your role will be to proactively generate and execute environmental and safety programs for all business units.  You will provide leadership in waste management and minimisation. 
 
Equally important, will be your involvement in assisting managers and supervisors to maintain compliance with safety and environment policies and Acts.  You will also undertakes and get involved with risk assessment and Accident & Incident Investigations at both Victorian sites and liaise with Return to Work Coordinators as needed.
 
To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:
 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English as you will be required to write reports and participate in presentations to various professionals and government agencies.
 
  • Proven ability to manage a number of projects at once and meet deadlines.
 
  • Tertiary qualifications in a scientific field preferably in Environmental Science.
 
  • Ability to relate to people at all  levels from shop floor to senior management.
 
  • Many years experience in a EH&S role or similar.
 
  • As the company is ISO14001 and ISO 9001 accredited it would be advantageous to have some knowledge / understanding of both quality systems.
