Analytical Chemist - Oils

Our client, an independent analytical laboratory and consulting firm provides testing services on oils and materials used in electrical equipment.
 
Due to company growth, an opportunity has developed for an experienced chemist or technician to join their laboratory team.
 
This hands on position requires you to undertake tasks within the laboratory including sample preparation and analysis, interpretation and result reporting as well as diagnostic evaluations. You will also be expected to complete OH&S duties and ensure quality and certification requirements are met.
 
You will also be required to perform routine instrumental maintenance  and troubleshooting, along with minor repairs to laboratory equipment.
 
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following selection criteria:
 
  • Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or Equivalent
  • Experience in using and maintaining HPLC, GC and FTIR
  • Sound technical knowledge of laboratory operations
  • Minimum 3 years laboratory testing experience, analysis of oils would be advantageous
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Great "heads down" attitude to work
  • Good trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Excellent ability to interpret results and prepare diagnostics reports
