PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT – FORMULATIONS CHEMIST

Due to growth, our client, a well known manufacturing company, is looking to employ an experienced Product Development - Formulations Chemist. 
 
The successful candidate will be part of the Product Development Team and will become involved in product and process development projects. 
 
The role should be considered as having three aspects associated with it.  Firstly, you will you will be required to develop products and formulations from conception.  Then you will need to be the person that oversees the scale up of trial products.  Finally, you will have an analytical component associated with the products that you will be developing.
 
To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following criteria:
 
  • Have tertiary qualifications in Chemistry with industrial experience in product development and/or formulation or reformulation in areas such as paints, pharmaceuticals, plastics or oils.
  • Experience with equipment such as HPLC and GC will be required for the analytical component of the position.
  • Be able to exhibit excellent project and time management skills as you will be working on a number of projects.
  • Be someone that can design and develop projects before implementation that leads to final manufacture. 
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to negotiate timelines with relevant parties.
  • Be a committed team player that can work autonomously as the need arises.
  • Want to take ownership and responsibility for your work; without needing someone to micro-manage you.
  • Have some experience in a process/manufacturing environment, so that you understand the processes and equipment involved in scale up to final production.
