Laboratory Technician - Permanent Role

Our client, a multinational company manufacturing UV-Sensitive Polymer Films and printing materials, is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician on a permanent full-time basis.
 
The successful candidate will have at least one to two years experience in a laboratory environment, preferably manufacturing, and will posses either a Diploma or degree.
 
This is a diverse and challenging autonomous role where you will be required to test polymeric materials.  The responsibilities include:
 
  • Analysis of raw materials and finished products using a combination of wet chemical and instrumental techniques including FTIR and Brookfield viscosities.
  • Various physical, mechanical and wet chemical testing.
  • Maintenance and calibration of equipment.
  • Maintenance of the retain store.
  • General laboratory housekeeping.
 
To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following requirements:
 
  • A degree in Chemistry or a Diploma in Laboratory Technology.
  • Some quality control industrial experience in the chemical or polymer industries - one to two years would be highly regarded.
  • The ability to work as part of a team-based work environment and autonomously as needed.
  • Must have a meticulous and methodical approach to laboratory analysis in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills to deal with varying work requirements.
 
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone that wishes to join a growing multinational company.  The initial three month probation period will be on contract.
