Food Technologist - Quality Assurance Focus

Our client, a well known government agency based in beautiful Tasmania, is looking for a Food Technologist to join their Quality Assurance team as part of a long-term contract.
 
This government role requires the candidate to be an Australian citizen - permanent residency is not sufficient.
 
The successful candidate will be undertaking the  following duties:
 
  • HACCP quality system maintenance and compliance.
  • Compliance with regulatory and industry requirements for food production including FSANZ and Australian Food and Grocery Council requirements
  • Equipment performance and calibration checks together with record maintenance. 
  • Help to achieve compliance with the requirements of ISO 17025 (NATA)
  • Review and update of laboratory documentation and forms
  • Advance the current quality system documentation for methods of analysis, risk assessments, equipment SOPs, data handling and reporting
 
This is a contract until the end of December 2010 at which time it will be reviewed with view to extension.
 
To be successful for this role you must meet the following requirements:
 
  • You MUST BE an Australian citizen!
  • Have tertiary qualifications in food technology or other related scientific discipline
  • Working knowledge of quality systems relevant to the Food Industry such as HACCP and FSANZ
  • Working knowledge of ISO 17025 - NATA
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a team member or individually under general direction.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to complete tasks on time.
  • Competence in the use of computers and computer software, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel, for the purposes of preparing documentation
