Involved in the development and then commercialisation of biodegradable polymers for all industries, our client is seeking an experienced Chemist to join their operations.
 
Joining the Project Teams, the successful candidate will be a key member in developing new opportunities for biodegradable plastics. The polymers will be novel starch resins and hence this role will be involved in formulation, raw material selection and system development.
 
In addition participation in resin compounding, physical property measurements and processing trials will be expected.
 
The ideal candidate for this role will have hands on experience in sheet, injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion techniques.
 
In addition to the above requirement, you must meet the following selection criteria in order to be considered for this role:
 
  • Degree qualifications in Chemistry. PhD's who have experience in Starch and/or biodegradable polymers are encouraged to apply
 
  • Some experience in the polymer industry, ideally 2-5 years
 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as there will be a need to communicate with Europe and US alliances
 
  • An ability to travel overseas
 
  • Excellent organisational skills
 
  • Have a methodical and structured approach to development processes
