Technical Officer - Trade Waste

  • Opportunity to Impact both Quality and the Environment
  • Excellent Working Conditions and Friendly Staff
  • Great Hourly Rate for the Right Person
We currently have a great opportunity for someone to make a difference in the Trade Waste Industry.

This is a 4 to 6 months contract assignment to advise customers on the appropriate monitoring and management of a diverse array of sometimes complex trade waste discharges.  Your aim will be to prevent adverse impacts from these Trade Waste discharges.

Why will you make a difference?  Because the position requires you to assess and monitor wastes to ensure that they do not endanger human life, compromise personal safety, compromise the sewerage system or adversely affect its functionality.  This is an important role that can impact directly upon utilities as well as the community.  Something that few positions provide the opportunity to do.

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry, Applied Science or Chemical Engineering with a strength in Chemistry.
  • Demonstrated experience in Trade Wastes analysis and applications. You need a thorough understanding of Trade Waste management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients and produce clear, concise and precise reports.
  • An understanding of appropriate regulations, such as Trade Waste, Plumbing and Sewerage.
  • Well developed analytical skills to allow you to identify patterns and trends.
  • An ability to think autonomously and deal with issues, innovatively if appropriate, as the need arises.
  • Have good computing skills including a good knowledge of Excel.
  • Be a motivated individual who is willing to see the task through to completion.
  • Though you will work autonomously you will be an integral part of the bigger team.  Hence you will need to act autonomously or as part of the team as the situation dictates.

This truly is a rare opportunity to make a difference.  If this is the type of person that you want to be then this is the position for you.  The hourly rate for the right candidate is $35 - $40 per hour plus 9% super.

To apply for this position, please send your covering letter addressing the above criteria with a current resume by using the link below.
