Our client is a progressive and expanding company specialising in the field of precious metals refining and experiencing continuous growth!  As a consequence they require one more Technician!
Their operations cover all three facets of this industry and as such their technical facilities include a laboratory, a refinery and a smelting section. 
This company is Australia‚Äôs leading independent precious metals refiner and it services the jewellery, dental and mining industries.  The premises boast the latest, state of the art technology in refining. Excellent staff facilities include well appointed eating areas as well as a gymnasium and management provides a full set of work clothes including jeans, boots, jumpers, jackets, etc.
As a Trainee Precious Metals Technician you will be trained to work in the refining processing department.  Precious metal refining is a sophisticated process and our client utilises automated, state of the art instruments and processes including some manual handling.
Working in a team, your main duty will be the refining of precious metals utilising a variety of industry specific methods.  The Company will provide you with extensive in-house training which will include some limited work within the smelting area using microwave size, induction and resistance furnaces, the use of various chemicals and some analytical procedures.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • You must have completed Year 11 or 12 and have had chemistry as a subject or have been exposed to working with chemicals.
  • Some knowledge of working with chemicals either in industry or in high school.
  • Working in the refining department means you will be dealing with chemicals and other dangerous goods, as well as some lifting. You must be comfortable and competent in this environment.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work autonomously or as part of a team.
  • Flexible attitude to work.
  • Commitment to working safely and responsibly.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
