Our client, a major multinational Pharmaceutical Company is rapidly expanding it's Australian operations.  They have requested the services of ChemSkill to source a MICROBIOLOGY MANAGER to run and oversee their Microbiology Laboratory.
 
Reporting to the Analytical Services Manager, this individual will have up to 10 microbiologists reporting to them, therefore the potential candidate must have previous management experience.
 
This role would involve:
  • ensuring all raw materials, in-process and finished products are analysed within a timely manner and conform to specifications;
  • Carrying out environmental monitoring, including water sampling and analysis when needed;
  • Method validation for the microbiological analysis of products;
  • constantly updating and improving quality systems and specifications within the micro lab;
  • providing technical advice to production and manufacturing plants;
  • be available to assist in the micro testing when necessary;
  • perform and manage internal and external audits for the micro lab, ensuring laboratory meets regulatory requirements;
  • provide sufficient training to all micro staff;
  • Manage a calibration log book for all instrumentation within the micro lab.
 
In order to be considered for this role, YOU MUST adhere to the following criteria:
 
  • Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Microbiology;
  • able to manage a small team
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years experience within a micro lab, preferably in a Pharmaceutical Company;
  • have a very sound understanding of compliance with GLP, GMP and OH&S requirements within the pharma industry;
  • excellent communication and written skills;
  • strong people management skills;
  • possess loads of initiative.
