Graduate Food Technologist- Pet Food Products

Due to growth, our client, a well-known Australian manufacturer of premium pet food products, is looking for a GRADUATE FOOD TECHNOLOGIST to join their team!
 
Reporting to the QC Team Leader, this role will be challenging and varied. You will receive full training on all tasks/procedures/instrumentation.
 
Predominantly based in the QC department you will be responsible for testing of Pet Food Products, however you will also be required to step into the Processing/manufacturing department where needed. Although the working hours are standard, there will be times when you will be needed to complete night shift as required.
 
This role will suit a FRESH graduate who is eager to step into the workforce and commence their career with a leading company.
 
 
The successful candidate will be expected to perform, amongst others, the following tasks:
 
  • Conduct routine and non routine quality tests in keeping with ISO standards and HACCP principles. Communicate directly with technical maintenance and production departments
  • Conducts visual inspection, monitoring product colour, consistency and aesthetics;
  • Conduct routine microbiological, chemical and biochemical  testing in accordance with standards
  • Prepare routine and on-routine reports
  • Ensure quality standards and packaging of finished products is in accordance with company specifications
  • Adhere to all appropriate health and safety procedures
 
To be successful for this role you must meet the following requirements:
 
  • Tertiary qualification in Food Technology/Food Science
  • Ability to work well autonomously, while following the correct policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate articulately with internal and external personnel, and maintain working relationships with production staff
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to learn 
  • Flexible attitude, willing to be trained in many departments
  • Willing to work NIGHT SHIFT when necessary, such as when short staffed
  • Competence in the use of computers and computer software
