An established company founded on a passion to target a niche sector in the chilled foods section, our client has developed solid relationships with the major retailers and is now looking to expand these as well as develop new relationships to distributors within the food industry.
Manufacturing a range of products available in the chilled foods section in supermarkets, they have solid marketing and a business plan that is highly ambitious but very achievable given their track record.
At the core of their culture is a commitment to health and safety and bringing the highest quality products to market.
 
Role
An exciting, strategic role is now available as a national portfolio and business development manager to lead the company into the next phase of their growth.
Your primary role will be managing relationships with existing major clients and lead business development activity as well as managing a team of 7-8 sales reps across the country.
Dedicated in your approach, you will constantly be looking to form new strategic retail partnerships with major retailers and drive the creation of innovative new paths to market.
 
Candidate
To be successful in this role you will need:
 
  • A solid background within the food industry (preferably in the chilled foods section);
  • Proven new business development ability;
  • Demonstrated knowledge on past, present and future market trends within the food industry, and the ability to carry out appropriate research to remain ahead of the curve; and
  • Proven ability to manage a state or national team.
 
Experience within the major supermarkets will be highly regarded as this role will not only involve executing sales strategies but also creating & planning business growth strategies within these markets.
