Industrial Health & Safety Officer - Petrochemicals

Are you a chemist with experience in OH&S?
 
Do you have experience working with industrial hygiene and safety training programs?
 
12 month Contract role, with potential for extension based on performance.
 
Our client, a multinational petrochemical company is looking for an industrial chemist who has worked in Occupational, Health and Safety.
 
We are looking for someone with a strong motivation to engage with other work groups to deliver programs.
A chemistry degree or similar will be appropriate to this position as the successful candidate will need to interpret data from monitoring programs.
 
If you are a hands-on person and can operate without a lot of supervision to deliver outcomes then we want to hear from you!
 
Further responsibilities will include the following:
 
  • Lead & participate in work site assessments
  • Face to face (F2F) engagement with workers and work groups
  • Prepare, conduct and coordinate training
  • Lead Company Industrial Hygiene Safety Committees and contribute to improved Health & Safety performance
  • Provide safety and health information and specialist advice
  • Proactively support & implement site safety, quality & emergency response plans
  • Ensure compliance to regulations
 
To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following requirements:
 
  • Experience & knowledge of OHS Legislative Framework and key Regulations/Codes of Practice
  • Experience as a OHS Advisor or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
