Technical Trainer - Blood Bank

Are you a Senior Laboratory Scientist/Chief Scientist/Medical Scientist or a Nursing specialist (e.g. Transfusion)/Registered Nurse that has either laboratory and/or transfusion or blood bank experience?

Our Client
Our Client, a national Government Body, utilises an online web based system that allows staff in hospital pathology laboratories to order blood and blood related products in a standardised way, quickly, easily and securely from the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. The system is currently in use in every state and territory in Australia.
The Role
Based at our client's Head Office in Melbourne, the role involves the managing, sourcing, communicating and delivering of Training to staff in the use of this online ordering system.  The training will cover both Metropolitan and Regional sites around Victoria and potentially southern parts of New South Wales (NSW) for approximately 4-5 months.
The successful candidate will be fully trained on how to use this web based ordering system and will be provided with all equipment required to work remotely (laptop, phone, wireless broadband, cabcharge card) including necessary transportation and allowances to support all your travel expenses.
This position will require you to be able to spend both short and long periods travelling away from home and working outside of normal business hours as needed. 
An ability to multi-task, prioritise and having a good knowledge of laboratory practices is essential. 
Familiarity with and having the ability to use the Microsoft suite of products and be comfortable interacting with the web is a necessity. 
Position Criteria
To be successful in your application you will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Qualifications in a Medico related field. as well as experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be highly regarded but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of the Australian blood sector and blood products will also be highly regarded.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
  • Good driving record and full licence.
  • Sound oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence people at all levels.
  • Must be flexible with working hours as this job will require extended periods away. 
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office.
