Our client, a multinational company, is currently looking to employ a Senior Production Chemist within their NATA accredited production laboratory. 
 
As part of their QA/QC Group, you will be the one providing support and mentoring services to the team in all facets of in-process and finished product testing.
 
Some of the duties associated with this role include:
 
  • Co-ordination and prioritisation of workloads to achieve outcomes and provide shift cover during periods of leave and weekends as required.
 
  • Method development, validation and improvement of existing analytical procedures utilising GLC and HPLC.
 
  • Seeking of  new opportunities for improvement of existing processes and procedures.
 
  • Reviewing of material usage variances, batch sheet nonconformance and product against bill of materials
  • Assisting in the introduction of new products into the manufacturing process and advise upon transfer to manufacture.
 
  • Assisting in the maintenance of the laboratory control charts and check samples.
 
  • Operation and maintenance of analytical equipment Technical report writing and presentations.
 
  • Provision of technical support for the Development Group and Marketing and Sales staff within the organisation.
 
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:
 
  • Enthusiasm, independence and proven leadership skills capable of directing a team towards agreed targets and time lines.
  • Essential to have a Chemistry, Pharmaceutical or Formulation Science degree or similar, ideally with at least 5 years experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in quality assurance protocols.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on multiple projects at one time.
  • Good communication and influencing skills.
  • Computer and report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in  Analytical method development utilising GLC and HPLC techniques will be viewed favourably.
