Chemical Cadet Trainee - Chemical Manufacturing

Our client, a chemical manufacturer based in Melbourne that exports product worldwide is offering a Chemical Cadet traineeship.
 
The successful candidate will be undergo a "on the job" training program for 12 – 18 months designed to achieve Certificate I in Process Manufacturing & Certificate II in Process Plant Operations.
 
As a Cadet some of your duties will be:
 
  • Tanker loading and unloading.
  • Product sampling and analysis when required.
  • Operate drum filling process following correct operating procedure.
  • Operate flaker and bagging machine following correct operating procedures.
  • Environmental reporting requirements i.e. monitoring of site effluent.
  • Providing relief cover in weigh bridge office when required.
  • Safe operation of forklift (must first undertake forklift training and hold current license)
  • Testing and maintenance of Cooling Tower Treatment.

To be considered for the cadetship you will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Hardworking
  • Honest & trustworthy
  • Have initiative and need minimal supervision
  • Able to use Microsoft Office software including e-mail
  • Be ambitious and have drive
  • Have a real desire to establish a potentially rewarding career in the Chemical
    Manufacturing Industry
  • Forklift licence is desirable but not necessary.
 
As this is an entry level position, limited work experience is acceptable. However, if you have worked in a manufacturing environment your application will be looked at favourably.
