FORMULATION SCIENTIST

Our client is a global pharmaceutical manufacturer producing pharmaceuticals for the world market. They are actively working to increase their product range on offer in Australia.  
 
This permanent position is a rare opportunity and would suit a development scientist with a BSc or higher degree and at least 2 years relevant experience.
 
The successful candidate will report to the Section Leader of the Formulation and Novel Product Development Group. Duties will include:
 
  • Product development: concept; stability trials; manufacture; selection of container and closure; registration; launch
  • Actively participate in cross-functional project teams
  • Develop products on time, and meet customer expectations
  • Produce novel and value added formulations and processes and support patenting the new inventions
 
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
 
  • Degree, MSc or PhD qualified in pharmacy, chemistry or related discipline
  • At least 2 years experience in a related area
  • Excellent HPLC skills
  • Formulation experience valued but not essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the development process
  • Technical skills in at least one area of pharmaceutical development
  • Knowledge of 1 or more of: analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, physical chemistry, organic chemistry
  • Strong customer focus
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams with others at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Initiative, troubleshooting and decision making skills
  • Patent interpretation experience
  • Analytical method development experience
  • Ability to train and coach
