CLIENT
Based in Sydney, our client, is a large multinational commercial Laboratory and Technical Consultancy. With many accreditations, from NATA to TGA, they are a leader in their field.  Due to internal movement, their Sydney  laboratory requires a Validation Chemist to start as soon as possible! 
 
ROLE
The successful candidate will have leadership experience, a good understanding of quality systems and requirements and will be in charge of method development and validation for instruments such as HPLCs, GCs and ICP-OES. 
 
Ideally your experience will include new equipment commissioning. Whilst the main responsibilities will be in Method Development/Validation, the position will also include some routine bench work (Wet Chemistry and Sample Prep) when required. Prior experience testing foods and supervising staff will be highly regarded.
 
SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Tertiary qualifications in chemistry or similar
  • Strong experience in method development and validation for HPLC, GC and ICP-OES (including new equipment)
  • Experience working in a NATA accredited lab, or familiarity with NATA requirements
  • Experience working in a commercial or consulting laboratory will be highly regarded
  • SOP writing skills/good report writing skills
  • Good instrument maintenance and troubleshooting skills
  • Exceptional problem solving skills to deal with issues as they arise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player with a friendly disposition that can work autonomously as required
  • Excellent Leadership skill with the ability to train and engage other staff
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills to ensure that you are efficient and effective in the workplace
  • Attention to detail as this is critical to such a role
