How great is this! A rare opportunity to assist our client to carry out risk assessments of Industrial Chemicals.  Something that happens all the time, however few of us get an opportunity to be part of the process.
This is initially a 3 month contract assignment which will be reviewed. Who knows where it could lead?  It will certainly open up doors to other opportunities in your career.
You will undertake scientific searches on chemicals, evaluating the information and their impact on human health and preparing a range of assessment products including information sheets and complex technical reports. You will also provide technical and regulatory advice to internal and external clients and stakeholders  and liaise with internal and external Government and Non-Government bodies.
You need to be a motivated self-starter and be someone that will show initiative and flexibility. If you are comfortable in taking responsibility for your own work, this is what is on offer.  Interpersonal skills are a great benefit, so if you think that you are one of those Scientists that combines personality with technical ability, we want to hear from you.
To be eligible for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
  • Have a Postgraduate qualification in Chemistry, Pharmacology, Medicinal Science/Chemistry or Toxicology.
  • Preferably be someone with a great understanding of Organic or Medicinal Chemistry.
  • Be a leader when it comes to  data/ information searching capabilities.
  • As you will be dealing with a broad spectrum of people from different Disciplines, have exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit exceptional Attention to Detail.  This is a role where being a perfectionist pays off.
  • Mandatory exceptional written communication skills. Make sure that you proof read your application carefully or it goes into the Miscellaneous pile.
  • After an initial period, be able to liaise with external clients.
  • Without stating the obvious, to be successful you will need to have exceptional time management and organisational skills to accompany your ability to meet strict deadlines and time frames.
