CLIENT
A very rare opportunity has arisen with our client, an organisation dedicated to the promotion of Scientific and Engineering knowledge. The position is for a Research and Policy Officer and is for a 12 month contract.
 
ROLE
Working in a Multi-disciplinary role, you will be responsible for researching current issues and reporting on this information in both a verbal and written format. This position will bridge together Applied Science to Policy, in areas ranging from environmental issues such as climate change across to Health.
 
To be successful in this role you will use your proven experience in researching from a PhD, the ability to collate and digest complex information and then confidently relay this is both written reports and verbal presentations. You will have fantastic communication skills, as you will be liaising with Senior researchers, external organisations and key stakeholders.
 
SELECTION CRITERIA
  • PhD in a Scientific or Engineering Discipline OR a Minimum degree level Qualification with a few years in Research or Science Policy role
  • Experience dealing with Senior Personnel in a professional environment, or Key Stakeholders
  • Strong Relationship building skills
  • Well developed research skills through a PhD or similar- or a research related role through Industry, Gov't or academia
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects/demands (project management exp is well regarded)
  • Experience and confidence to present information in front of people
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication is a MUST
