ROLE
A leader in the field of waste management, our client is looking  for a dynamic candidate with outstanding technical capabilities to take on the role of Technical Manager - R&D  and Innovation. The successful candidate will oversee the review of existing technologies and the development of new processes. Safety, R&D and Innovation together with the ability to make quick, sound decisions, will be high on the agenda for this senior role.
 
Effective and open communication will be critical  as you will be required to liaise with various regulatory authorities, internal and external clients as well as other Company stakeholders.
 
SELECTION CRITERIA
For your application to be successful, you will need to meet the following criteria;
 
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant science or engineering discipline with a minimum of several years of relevant waste management experience
  • Strong track record of achievement in managing R&D and Innovation in solid/liquid waste recycling programs
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving  skills that will enable the person to make instant decisions with dealing with issues as they arise
  • Strong business acumen as the role is critical in implementing ongoing actions to enable the organisation to remain an industry leader
  • Experienced in managing the development, promotion and implementation of new waste  disposal/management schemes or processes
  • Consults, liaises with and influences key stakeholders  whilst monitoring performance against objectives  and managing projects' risks  and issues
  • Knowledge of the relevant legislative requirements including EHS, environmental  and local council legislation
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including experience in report writing and consultation in conjunction with exceptional customer liaison  skills
  • A background  that demonstrates decisive leadership  and management, strong strategic planning skills, stakeholder engagement experience and proven success in achieving  business objectives
  • Solutions focussed with ability to work under pressure whilst remaining flexible and adaptable
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills
  • Well-developed computer skills and use. Considered intermediate/advanced with Microsoft word
