Food Safety Industry Analyst - Chemistry (Part-time Contract)

CLIENTOur client is a leading Independent Authority who ensures National Food Safety Standards are met through licensing and compliance with Food Safety Programs. ROLEThis part-time (0.6) role is a 12 month contract (Maternity leave cover) with the potential to be extended. The role also has the ability to be flexible with your working hours. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager this position will be responsible for the effective coordination and delivery of a Food Safety verification program within the Australian Dairy industry. Your duties will include:
  • Coordination of all operational activities for the programs
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of data for programs
  • Investigating and analysing data for the programs
If you are looking for a challenging role out of the laboratory that utilises your chemistry experience within the food/dairy industry, then this is the role for you. Pivotal to your success in this role will be your experience and capabilities in managing the relationships of external stakeholders. You will have experience working in a microbiology laboratory in a dairy setting, be a proven self-starter as well as have strong organisational capabilities. SELECTION CRITERIATo be considered for these positions, you will need to meet to following criteria:
  • Minimum tertiary qualification of a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Food Technology/Science or relevant discipline
  • Sound understanding of Food Safety Risks and Primary Production Systems
  • Sound understanding of Chemical use practices and potential Chemical Residue Hazards associated with Australian Dairy production
  • Experience working in a chemical testing laboratory within the Dairy Industry
  • The capacity to develop and maintain constructive relationships with clients, industry groups and other key stakeholders
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word and Access
