The Company
Our client is a progressive and expanding company specialising in the field of precious metals refining. Their operations cover three specific technical areas of the industry such as laboratory, refinery and smelting.  This company is  Australia's leading independent precious metals refiners which services the jewellery, dental and mining industries.  The premises include excellent staff facilities, a safe work environment and a rewarding career for the right person. Location is within 5km of the CBD.
The Position
Precious metals refining is exciting and involves many chemical and physical processes. Due to company growth, a position has become available for a Laboratory Technician.  Reporting to the senior Chemist, the main focus of this role will be to assist with various laboratory duties. Additional training in other areas such as the refinery and the smelting room will be undertaken to enable the successful candidate to fully understand the production procedures and their complexities.
This position will provide you with the opportunity to work with an experienced team of staff and excellent management all of whom are committed to a high standard of technical work, staff safety and client service. 
The Person
To be successful in your application, you must be a qualified Laboratory Technician looking for a long term career.  To be considered you must meet the following criteria:
  • A Diploma or Certificate in chemistry or laboratory practice.
  • Well developed laboratory skills and a good understanding of chemistry principles will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • Must not be afraid to get hands dirty.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good time management skills coupled with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated flexible attitude to work.
