GC-MS Chemist

Our client, a Consulting Laboratory servicing global Food and Agricultural Industries, is currently looking for a GC-MS Chemist to join their NATA accredited Laboratory.

Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for samples from preparation, to analysis and reporting. You will take ownership of your work and be self motivated and thrive on responsibility. Normally the hours of work are 8.30am-5pm, Monday to Friday. However, there will be 4-5 times during the year when you would be expected to work a weekend shift.

Industrial experience in Pesticide Residues would be an advantage, but not essential as the right person will be trained. However, you will be experienced in a laboratory environment in GC-MS analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting.
 
To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
 
  • Have a minimum of Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry.
  • Passion to see analyses through to completion.
  • Ability to multi-task and be efficient and effective in the workplace.
  • Have the capacity to determine the outcome, based upon a review of the information available.
  • Good interpersonal skills to complement your good team working capabilities.
  • Be a positive individual who is a self starter.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Though not essential, experience in a NATA registered laboratory, preferably in pesticide residues would be an advantage. A working knowledge of ISO 9001 would also be beneficial.
