QUALITY COORDINATOR - QUEENSLAND

Our client is the Australian subsidiary of one of the largest industrial minerals groups in the world. They process and supply a range of raw materials to the Australian and international market, operating a network of over 30 mines, plants, sales offices and distribution warehouses throughout Australia and New Zealand.
 
The company site is based in Calliope, 21 kms from the city of Gladstone which is located on the Central Queensland coastline. 
 
This operation is currently in need of an experienced Quality Coordinator to manage the quality activities for the site, maintain the ISO 9000 quality system, ensure continued third party certification, conduct QC training for employees and contractors and undertake special projects as specified by the Operations Manager.
 
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidates responsibilities will include:
  • Maintain Site quality system in line with corporate and ISO 9000 guidelines.
  • Undertake training of operations personnel and maintain training records.
  • Schedule and conduct product audits.
  • Coordinate QC activities and staff to ensure that products are sampled and tested in accordance with approved methods.
  • Coordinate the input of QC data into the Product Quality Database.
  • Liaise with Site EHS Coordinator and cover this role when needed.
 
 
For your application to be successful you will meet the following criteria:
 
  • Tertiary qualifications preferred but not essential
  • Current drivers licence
  • At least 3 years experience in a mining or manufacturing environment
  • Quality systems management experience
  • Physical testing laboratory experience
  • Project management experience including budgeting and cost control
  • Good computer literacy / software skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
