Our client is a multinational Minerals Company located in the South Eastern suburbs. Due to staff movement, they are looking to employ a Laboratory Technician to work in their NATA and ISO accredited laboratory. This position is a contract for six months after which time it will be reviewed.

This is a Quality Control role and it involves the preparation of various mineral samples and the testing of these using a variety of wet chemical, physical and instrumental techniques. You will be exposed to numerous test methods such as testing with XRF, the measuring of surface area using nitrogen and oil absorption, and particle sizing just to mention a few.

The Company offers onsite parking, a friendly work environment as well as a modern well-equipped and clean laboratory. The hours of work are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4.30 pm.

To be successful in your application you must meet the following criteria:

- Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or a related field.
- Some laboratory experience, especially with minerals would be highly regarded, but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to relate to people at all levels.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to work well autonomously as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and good problem solving capabilities.
- Friendly yet professional disposition.
