Laboratory Technician, Food Technologist or Polymer Chemist

Our client is an Australian owned leading edge company that develops and commercialises novel biodegradable polymers for the Food Industry. They are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician or Food Technologist or Chemist to join their rapidly growing group.
 
The successful candidate will be part of a team that undertakes testing and analysis work as part of characterisation, formulation and process development projects.
 
As you be working with polymers, much of the testing uses instrumentation such as NIR, FTIR, UV/VIS, DSC, RVA and mechanical and physical tests such as tensile strength, impact, flexure, moisture content and other wet chemistry tests.
 
To be successful for this challenging and exciting role you must have:
 
  • Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Applied Science
  • Experience working with Starch will be highly beneficial 
  • Many years experience working in a food or plastics laboratory or alternatively a graduate that has achieved excellent results at Uni and is eager to learn new skills
  • Knowledge of standard analytical and instrumental test methods in the food science or plastics area
  • Computer literate in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Understanding of basic statistics and data analysis and presentation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
