Our client is a progressive and expanding company specialising in the field of precious metals refining. Their operations cover all three areas of this Industry and as such its technical areas include a laboratory, a refinery and a smelting section. This company is one of Australia’s leading independent precious metals refiners and it services the jewellery, dental and mining industries. The premises include excellent staff facilities and management provides a full set of work clothes.

As a Trainee Precious Metals Process Technician you will be working in the Refining and Smelting Departments. Working in a team, your main duty will be the refining of precious metals utilising a variety of industry specific methods. As a Trainee, the Company will provide you with extensive in-house training which will include the use of induction and resistance furnaces, the use of various chemicals and some analytical procedures. At an appropriate time, you may also be exposed to some simple laboratory functions.

Successful candidates must meet the following criteria:

- Minimum Year 12 Chemistry, Certificate IV or Diploma in Chemistry.
- Working in the Smelting and Refining Departments means you will need to be aware that you will be dealing with chemicals and other dangerous goods and some lifting will be involved.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Ability to take directions, work autonomously as well as be part of a team.
- Flexible attitude to work.
- Commitment to working safely and responsibly.
- No experience necessary – full training provided enabling you to master a number of skills.
